Call for Research Scholarship Applications in respiratory diseases
(Asthma, COPD, Small airways dysfunction (SAD))


Chiesi is offering this scholarship to foster innovation and promote research within respiratory medicine. The purpose of Chiesi AIR scholarship is to support research in obstructive respiratory diseases and other chronic lung diseases from either Denmark, Finland or Sweden. The scholarship will paid through a healthcare organization (hospital or research unit). The applicant should hold a PhD in relevant area of research or be a PhD student.

The programme focuses on:

  1. Promoting clinical and translational research

  2. Improving patient care and treatment outcomes

  3. Strengthening collaboration between researchers and healthcare professionals

 

Who can apply

You can apply if you:

  1. Work as a researcher in Sweden, Denmark or Finland

  2. Are early in your research career (before or shortly after PhD)

 

We are looking for projects within:

  1. COPD

  2. Asthma

  3. Small airways disease

Relevant projects can include:

  1. Clinical studies

  2. Real‑world data

  3. Studies on treatment, disease management or patient outcomes

  4. Health equity

 

What you can apply for

Funding can cover:

  1. Staff costs

  2. Materials and equipment

  3. Activities to share your results

Travel costs are not covered.

 

What to include in your application

Your application should include:

  1. A short project description (why the project matters and how it will be done)

  2. Study objectives and methods

  3. A realistic plan and timeline

  4. Budget

 

What we look for

We assess applications based on:

  1. Relevance

  2. Scientific quality

  3. Feasibility

  4. Potential benefit for patients or healthcare
